1) Visit the Zoo
The Magnetic Hill Zoo is located in Moncton, and is home to many exotic and endangered species. The Magnetic Hill Zoos hours are limited during the winter months, but during March the zoo will be open during select dates weather permitting. Magnetic Hill Zoo is home to over 400 animals, making it the largest zoo in Atlantic Canada.
2) Hiking (or snowshoeing)
March break is a great time to do some winter hiking or snowshoeing. Some great New Brunswick trails are located at Fundy National Park, Irving Nature Park, Midland Ice Caves, and the Sussex Bluff.
3) Escape Rooms
The popularity of escape rooms continues to grow immensely. Escape rooms are a game in which players solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues, hints, and strategy to complete the objectives at hand and then eventually escape the room. 4) Skiing
New Brunswick is home to 2 family friendly ski hills, which are perfect for your March Break getaway.
Poley Mountain is known as a family-friendly mountain and is located approximately 10 kilometers from Sussex, New Brunswick. This ski hill is centrally located between Moncton, Saint John, and Fredericton. Poley Mountain is home to 32 developed trails, including trails for all levels and 5 lifts. This hill also features a modern ski lodge which includes a cafe, and a bar & grill.

Crabbe Mountain is located in Central Hainesville, New Brunswick, about halfway between Fredericton and Woodstock. Crabbe Mountain is home to some of the largest verticals in the Maritimes, featuring 21 Alpine Trails, 11 Glades and 3 lifts.
4) Museum
Do you have a history lover in your family? The New Brunswick Museum is located in Saint John, NB. Discover New Brunswick’s art, rich history, and nature in more than a dozen fully accessible galleries. Explore on your own or talk to the museum’s interpreters.
5) Trampoline Park
New Brunswick is home to 2 trampoline parks. Trampoline parks are indoor family entertainment centers that feature numerous connected trampolines and other fun sections such as pits filled with foam blocks, trampoline basketball etc. Trampoline parks are great family fun, and fun for the entire family.
6) Pottery Painting
Do you have an artist in your family? Pottery Painting is a great relaxing March break family activity. The Clay Cafe is located in Fredericton and DIY Studio is located in Moncton. Spend the day making treasured keepsakes as a family.
7) Skating
Skating is a great family activity to do during March Break. There are many indoor and outdoor rinks located in New Brunswick which offer public skating hours throughout the day, including the Quispamsis Qplex, Superior Propane Centre in Moncton, Waterford Youth Centre located just outside of Sussex (outdoor rink), and the Lady Beaverbrook Arena in Fredericton.
8) Swimming
New Brunswick is home to many indoor pools that are ideal for your March Break getaway. The Canada Games Aquatic Center is located in Saint John and features an Olympic-Sized 50-meter pool, as well as a Leisure Pool Area. Sussex is also home to the PotashCorp Civic Centre, which features an indoor aquatic facility, track, and therapy pool.
